Cemetery Trustees

Abandoned Cemeteries: March 15 is the end of the two-month notice of intent to abandon cemeteries. As per statute, Nancy will have the published notice read at the next Selectmen's meeting scheduled for March 19. A public hearing will be scheduled for the April 2 Selectmen’s meeting.
Cemetery Stones: The Trustees goal for 2013 is to straighten severely leaning stones or ones that have fallen in the public cemeteries. Trustees will visit the cemeteries in the spring to identify stones that are in need and then make arrangements for repair.
Flags: Last year the cost for flags for veteran graves was significantly higher. Trustees will be looking for alternative sources for these flags.
